Suffereing poverty was a common happening in the proletarian's life. Oprah's parents were dovorced and she lived with her grandmother for a large sum of her childhood. But Oprah also suffered through molestation and rape by friends and family members. At nine, her older cousin had raped her, and throughout her childhood years was molested by a male friend of her mother's and by her uncle. She never told anyone about this until she reached success, and instead rebelled and ran away, which resulted in her entering a detention center, but there wasn't any room for her, so she didn't have to. She was sent to her father's to live, and she eventually got a job at a radio station as a host. She soon became an anchor woman for a local news show. Ratings skyrocketed and she soon became what she is known for today, the richest and most influential, powerful women in America, and in other nations as well.

  1. How does she go from the molestation to her TV broadcasting days? Clean up the typos.
